All applications are reviewed, assessed and scored by the TX HEAT Scholarship committee and the two applicants with the highest scores will be awarded a scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded, and the recipients notified, no later than May 31 st of the year their application packet is submitted in. Scholarship awardees will be notified by phone and email that they have been awarded a TX HEAT HMIC Scholarship. After the initial notification, awardees will receive another email with a link and a code to allow them to register for the HMIC conference for free. It may take several days or weeks for this second email to arrive. Once they register, using the link and code provided, room reservations at the host hotel will automatically be made for them by the conference staff. Scholarship recipients will receive additional emails confirming their registration and room reservations. When they check-out of the hotel on the last day of the conference scholarship recipients will be responsible for any costs or room charges they incur during their stay other than the cost for the room. Scholarship recipients are required to present a credit card to cover incidentals when they check-in at the hotel. Scholarship recipients, or their sponsoring agency, are responsible for:
• Travel costs
• Per diem costs
• Any additional hotel incidental costs (room charges, parking, etc.)
A TX HEAT HMIC Scholarship application can be obtained by sending an email here and requesting one.
Scholarship recipients agree that their name, department name, details from their application and all photos taken during the conference may be used by Safeware, US-HEAT for the purposes of promoting the scholarship program.
