The application submission period is May 1st to June 30th each year and applications are only considered for a scholarship for the conference occurring in the year that they are submitted. All applications are reviewed, assessed and scored by the US HEAT Scholarship Fund committee and the two applicants with the highest scores will be awarded a scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded, and the recipients notified, no later than July 31st of the year their application packet is submitted in. Scholarship awardees will be notified by phone and email that they have been awarded a US HEAT HMIC Scholarship.
After the initial notification, scholarship recipients will receive an email with a link and a code to allow them to register for the conference for free. Once registered, room reservations at the host hotel will automatically be made for them by the conference staff. Scholarship recipients will receive additional emails confirming their registration and room reservations. Scholarship recipients are required to present a credit card to cover incidentals when they check-in at the hotel and upon check-out will be responsible for any costs or charges they incur during their stay other than the room cost.
Scholarship recipients agree that their name, department name, details from their application and all photos taken during the conference may be used by Safeware, Hazard 3 and/or US-HEAT for the purposes of promoting the scholarship program.
